I have a good friend who lives in the UK and is interested in immigrating to the United States; however is concerned about medical history and whether or not the US will allow him to stay. I reviewed the website, tried to find criteria that would match his situation and am confused. This friend is Bi-Polar, and lives in a rather rough part of town. His life has been far from easy and it is affecting him every day in very profound ways. Does anyone know of a way that a person from another country can immigrate without having any citizenship ties, building a business, or some brilliant scientist, or being engaged to marry someone that is a citizen of said country? Additionally, what is the government looking for with applicants? Are minor offenses like carrying a knife, or getting into a couple scuffles. The last incident on his record was from 2003. Or, are there some countries easier to immigrate to than others? I know the US is particularly picky these days, as I understand it. Or are there any loopholes? any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
